A Liberal Nationals Government will ease the cost of doing business in Bentleigh through targeted support for local traders associations.
Our Retail Support Package for Bentleigh includes grants to the Ormond-McKinnon, Bentleigh and East Bentleigh Traders Associations to ease administrative costs and install roadside signage to boost local trade.
Businesses operating on or near the following shopping strips will benefit from the Liberal Nationals’ Retail Support Package:
- Centre Road, Bentleigh
- Centre Road, East Bentleigh
- East Boundary Road, East Bentleigh
- McKinnon Road, McKinnon
- North Road, Ormond
- Nepean Highway / South Road, Moorabbin / Bentleigh
Retailers across Bentleigh have barely recovered from the trade disruption caused by the grade separation projects.
This investment will boost local trade activity by promoting Bentleigh’s unique food and retail offering.
A Liberal Nationals Government will always stand shoulder to shoulder with small businesses and give them the assistance they need to trade, employ and make a profit.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Small and Medium Sized Businesses, Neale Burgess:
“Under Daniel Andrews and Labor, Victorian businesses are paying more for electricity and gas.
It’s important that we value and support our local shopping strips, because they provide much of the diversity that is Victoria’s great shopping experience. They are more often owned by local people and employ local workers. They are a critical part of the fabric of their local communities.
Four years ago on the eve of the last election, Daniel Andrews promised Victorians he would not introduce any new taxes. Since that election he’s introduced or increased 12 new taxes.”
Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Bentleigh, Asher Judah:
“As a small business owner, I know how hard it is to juggle customers, marketing and paperwork.
My support package will ease the burden on local retailers so they can focus on building their businesses and creating local jobs.”
